Evelyn turns 5 months old - March 10, 2011

Evelyn turned 5 months old on March 10, 2011 and on that day she learned to sit up all by herself. She sits for at least 5-6 minutes before falling over. Such a big girl. We are still trying to get her interested in eating. She likes the sweet potatoes but for some reason she won't open her mouth, she wants you to just force the food in. We will keep working on that before we introduce any new food. =)

Evelyn loves her big brother!!! He can make her just crack up!!! I walked into her room the other night and they were playing together!!! So cute!!

Evelyn eating for the first time - March 6, 2011

Since Evelyn is almost 5 months old we decided we wanted to try out "eating". Our doctor told us that there are new studies that show babies don't have to start with Rice Cereal and that we should start Evelyn out with a source of Iron, such as vegetables or meat. We decided to see if she would like Sweet Potatoes. Overall, she did well. She wasn't super interested in opening her mouth for me to get the spoon in, but she didn't spit the sweet potatoes out either. We will keep trying!!

Skate City for Gideon's 3rd Birthday

Gideon Michael turned 3 years old on March 1st and to celebrate we went to Skate City on March 5th. It was a lot of fun. I was surprised that Josiah actually tried it out. Mommy and Daddy were not interested!! =)

Fun at the Gym - March 4, 2011

Our good friends have a gymnastic studio in Castle Rock and invited us to bring Josiah so he could play. I think Tommy and I had more fun than Josiah. Our most favorite thing was this fun pit that you could swing from a rope and fall into or for that matter just jump directly in.

Poor Evelyn gets RSV

Evelyn started getting sick on February 18th and by Tuesday February 22nd we were worried. She was coughing a ton and not eating much. We took her into the Doctor around 11am on Tuesday, the doctor was concerned she had RSV, but at that time her pulse ox was 92, which is still good. She told me she thought I should come back later in the day to get her checked again just to be safe. We got back to the doctor around 4:30pm. When we first got there, her pulse ox was still 92 or so. We waited about 30 minutes and it had dropped to 88, which is not ideal. The doctor likes it to stay above 90. She warned us than that we would have to go to the hospital to get some oxygen and monitor her, but that she could probably go home that night. 30 minutes later the story changes again. They checked her pulse ox again and it was fluctuating between 80 and 86, which obviously worried the doctor since she called an ambulance and shipped us to PSL hospital in Denver. With RSV they worry about the oxygen level and dehydration. Evelyn never got dehydrated which was great but the RSV did cause a double ear infection and a fever of 101. Needless to say we were in the Hospital for 2 days being monitored and Evelyn was placed on oxygen. By the time we were able to come home, the double ear infection was under control and Evelyn was doing so much better that she was reduced to only having oxygen while she slept. She was on the oxygen while sleeping for another week. She is much better now!! Back to her happy self. Hopefully we will never have to go through this again!!!!

Josiah's Thomas the Tank Birthday Celebration

Josiah is OBSESSED with trains and in particular Thomas the Tank. He asked for that to be his theme and since Mommy made the tradition of making his cake each year I had quite the task. His party was just at our house, where we had Pin the Friend next to Thomas game, a Thomas pinata, some snacks, and a great cake. Overall I think the party was a hit and Josiah was very blessed!!!

Josiah is 3 years old!!! February 16, 2011

Time has flown by and we are amazed that Josiah Dale is now a 3 year old.

He had a fun filled day on his birthday!! Mommy was unable to get off work so he did have to go to school for the day, but we sent cupcakes for the entire school and Mima and Papa went to visit him.

Mommy and Daddy did get off work early so we could take Josiah somewhere special for his big day. We decided to go bowling and play arcades, and than had a nice family dinner at Olive Garden. Josiah got an 86 bowling and he won over 200 tickets in the arcade in which he got the biggest Smarties we have ever seen and some other toy that Daddy was excited about.

After dinner, Nayla, Papa and Jeremiah came over to say Happy Birthday and give Josiah his presents.

Evelyn is 4 Months old, February 10, 2011

Evelyn is 13 pounds, 0.5 ounces and just around 2 feet tall. She is a dramatic child, knowing exactly what she wants when she wants it. We all love her to pieces!!!
